On the way home, I saw the Eiffel Tower for the first time !

This morning it’s snowing. Daddy explained what snow was.
Mummy has already told me about Santa and the Reindeers … so it must mean that X-mas is on it’s way !

Today’s milestone : I can hold a bottle on my own !

OK Mummy cheated a bit, because I’m wrapped so tight in my blanket that the bottle stands on it’s own – but please don’t tell Mummy she’s so proud !

Today’s milestone (well actually it was yesterday’s) : I can play little indians with Mummy !

Monday Mummy showed me how little Indians speak.
Yesterday Mummy did it again, and I remembered how to play.
Today I smiled when Mummy started the “Boo hoo” sound & Daddy the copycat joined the game 😉

I’m really enjoying the little Indian game & Mummy is so proud !!

Today’s milestone : I have fingers!

This picture was taken by Daddy. Mummy had just made Daddy notice that I had discovered my fingers !

After a dreadful morning at the doctor’s, Mummy & I came back home. I was so glad, I spent all afternoon experimenting new sounds with my voice.
I’m now an expert in the ‘Aaaaa’ expiring sound, and a newbie at the ‘A!’ inspiring sound.

Aren’t I the coolest kid on the planet?
At 5 weeks old I’ve got my own French ID Card & Passport and in the process of getting my British Passport.

I’m not quite sure I’m going to love having my 21 days old picture on my Passports for the next 10 years 😉

Obama has just been elected and I’m just 5 weeks old.
One day I will be asking my parents where we were when we first knew Obama was the new United States president …
Daddy was feeding me in the living room.
Mummy was listening to the radio in bed.
The world had changed without us noticing…

At 1 month old I CAN

  • Follow you with my eyes
  • Appreciate art (even if my mum hates Le Boulch, I allowed to have my own taste)
  • Hold Mummy’s hand really tight
  • Hold my head up for 2 secs
  • Smile
  • and make lots of Baby Talk !

At 1 month old I CAN’T (but don’t tell my parents cuz they really think I can)

  • READ

  • SIT

Today Granny went home after a week with Mummy & me.
I would like to take this chance to say how much I love my Granny.

Granny, both Mummy & I want to tell you how much we appreciated your stay with us. I think Mummy really needed some Mummy help & training (especially regarding my neck & my burping).

We love you !
and are looking forward to see you on Tuesday.

While Daddy is still away, Mummy has been updating the blog with videos, so Daddy knows all about my improving communication skills.
But that’s not enough . Mummy wanted me to speak to Daddy.
So this morning I did my Baby Talk with very emotional Daddy.

Thank you so much Auntie Juliett & Uncle George for my own first personal Bank Cheque !
It’s so cool, I feel so independant & important now that I have my own money 😉

It’s been two days now that I have started to exercise my voice.
The first time was yesterday while Mummy was taking a shower and Daddy was sleeping.
Today Mummy managed to get one of my singing exercises on video.

Session 1

Session 2

As promised Mummy organized the first edition of “Le Gouter des Mamans”
(we could also call it a Only-Girls Tea Party where I’m allowed in).

Look our crazy paparazzis Mum who just can’t stop taking pictures.

Today I was really grumpy, but Mummy wanted absolutely to get my passport & ID Card but we needed a photograph with NO SMILE & EYES WIDE OPEN.

Ok I can do that but exclusively when I’m in Mummy arms 😉

So it took a great deal of patience to Henry the photographer & Mummy to distract me for the perfect shot / consistent with official standards.

My Mummy & Daddy think I look like a convict on this photo.
I just want everybody to know that I DO like my picture taken,
just NOT when I feel grumpy and hungry !!

So after a quick bib at Henry’s, we went to the “Prefecture” – a weird French official place where it seems you always are missing a paper or something and where people – especially women – aren’t very helpful (that is Mummy talking, cuz frankly I would not know as it was my first time at the Prefecture).
After a long negotiation because the lady thought I was too small/young for an ID, Mummy finally managed to convincer her to give me an ID Card & Passport. So in 2 weeks I’ll be ready to become a worldwide traveler 😉 Hip Hip Hurray!!

Officially it was 9:04pm when Daddy discovered it, and called Mummy to acknowledge this great fact of life :
MY UMBILICAL CORD HAS FALLEN – I HAVE A BELLY BUTTON !!!

Today I was in a weird mood … (my readers will know why tonight) … I managed to sleep 4 hours in my cot, but what I really wanted was to be in Mummy’s arms.
So Mummy rocked to sleep … and it was pure HEAVEN.

A beautiful sunny morning with Little James

Well actually this is not true.
My real first was a few weeks ago when I was still in Mummy’s tummy… but I couldn’t help Daddy then !

But now that I am out Daddy wants to teach me how to push the boutons on the Sony Oxford console in Studio A (also known as LE A)…

Today Mummy & I went for a great shopping tour in Bastille.
First we went to a Baby shop Rue du Faubourg St Antoine to get some more bibs – we met Marilou & her mum  too cool 😉
Then we went to see Daddy at Studio de la Scene (but I’ll be speaking about that later).
Then to Monoprix were a got a Giraffe called Sophie (why Sophie?), a new book (you all know by now how much Mummy wants me to start reading), and lots of stuff for me (milk, diappers … bladibla). Who would believe it ??? Mummy shopping in Monoprix … next thing she will be cooking – hahaha I really am a miracle maker.

After my trip to the Doctor, Daddy went to work. Mummy & I walked from Beaubourg to Arts & Metier (not very far – but let’s not forget that we are both still very tired). Then we took the subway, as it was my first time in there – Mummy had to take some pictures…

Then we went to the Social Security to get me registered.
And on our way home we visited an art gallery, for my first Contemporary Art Exhibit.

After big debates on Pushchair vs Baby Bjorn … Daddy vs Mummy carrier … Jardins des plantes vs Le Marais…
We finally decided : Baby Bjorn / Daddy / Places de Vosges !

Before I was in Mummy’s tummy, Daddy used to go to the market alone … I don’t know why but Mummy does not seem to like Markets, Kitchens and House work BUT then I came into Mummy’s tummy (I’ll have to remember to ask how that happenned) and Mummy started to go the market with Daddy.
Today it was my turn to go with them, and I invited my Granny to join us 😉

Meeting Daddy’s friend Jean Jacques

Haven’t you noticed that Ganjayou is always around me? Well do you know I’ve got another cat?

Shiva is a little shy and scared of me for the moment, but Daddy managed to make her come closer enough for Mummy to take a picture.
